nice article in the Guardian review, Saturday. Many famous writers have listed top ten 'do and don't' rules. one of my favorites is from Helen Simpson, who says the nearest she has to a rule is a post-it note on the wall that says "faire et se taire" by Flaubert, which she translates as "shut up and get on with it."
